Welcome to the donation page of Kimberly S. Perlak
Ben & I Play for Peace is an annual National Concert event that encourages people to use their talents to help others and honors those in our community who devote their lives to service. It is our honor to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
Our 2013 Concert at St. David's Episcopal in Austin, TX raised additional funds to those represented here online, totaling $4, 681.00
That brings our 2013 total close to $9,000.00 ... and counting!
Our 2012 Concerts, which took place in Austin, Sarasota, and Seattle raised a total of $3, 843.92 for WWP

This project is a collaboration between Ben (a 15 year old philanthropist and classical guitarist), Dr. Kim Perlak (guitarist and college professor), and their friends from across the nation led by soprano Martha Lopez-Leschke. In the past two years, our concerts in Austin, Sarasota, Seattle, and Denver raised several thousand dollars for Wounded Warriors and CNN Hero Brad Blauser’s non-profit Wheelchairs For Iraqi Kids and were honored by the House of Representatives. This year, we were thrilled to be joined by blues guitarist Kirby Kelley, Robert Summers - a veteran who has come on board as our Student & Sponsorship Coordinator, and our community partner St. David's Episcopal Church. Through the St. David's Journey Group program, two groups of beginning guitarists: the Veterans Guitar Group and one of their supporters, performed on our concert!
We are also grateful to our 2013 partner, Concordia University - TX for funding our PR costs so that all funds raised will go directly to this great work. Advance thanks also go to the students in American Pop & Guitar classes at Concordia whose volunteer work makes this possible!
Special thanks to those of you who joined us through our 2013 Supporter Concerts, Soprano Martha Lopez-Leschke's live webcast "Pajama Concert Series" and "Exposition and Finale: the Classen Guitar Program Concert" in Oklahoma City, directed by Matt Denman.

We are moved by the service of our troops and proud to honor them with our project. It is our hope to use our musical talents on this day to bring added awareness and support to our men and women in uniform who have given so much to our country.
